HR6-IR 3-18x50 FFP, MR1-Mil Reticle - 9/10

Conditions on the day were a very overcast, cold winters day, 4mph wind from 8 O clock, temp 7deg C.


Rifle and modifications used

6.5 x 47, Custom built Krieger barrel, Kelbly Action, MDT ACC Chassis weighted and balanced. Gunwarrior 5 port brake and Helber barrel tuner. Jewel trigger.Hand loaded custom ammo, shooting 130 grain bullet at approx. 2750fps.

Testing criteria

Ten aspects pertaining to the riflescope were highlighted for review and condensed into 6 to determine overall build, quality and value of the offering (the overall score out of 10 was subsequently 9):

  1. Eye relief & Diopter Adjustment

  2. Magnification adjustment

  3. Turrets / Tracking (windage & elevation – click feel, click audibility, turret size, adjustment response upon firing, Recoil handling, etc.)

  4. Parallax / Focus adjustment knob

  5. Illuminated reticle adjustment knob

  6. Reticle (focal plane, size, thickness, holdovers, design

  7. Glass (ocular lens, objective lens, overall clarity at variable ranges, etc.)

  8. Overall scope aesthetics

  9. Packaging

  10. Price




In the end Anthony gave it a thumbs up

"I was super impressed when scope was fitted... the reticle, top turret cap and bottom of base of scope were all level with each other. I have seen many scopes that the reticle is not level... Shows that everything is perfectly straight and consistent."
